About MCCU
Marigot Co-operative Credit Union (MCCU) was founded in 1954 by a dedicated group led by Mr. Belgrave Robinson. Beginning with just 52 members, the credit union grew to 75 members within its first year, reflecting early confidence in the cooperative movement and its mission to provide accessible financial services.
MCCU initially operated from the Marigot Village Council office, serving its founding community with commitment and integrity. As membership and services expanded, the credit union relocated to a rented building in Tiyix and later to its current location in Weirs, Marigot, where it continues to operate today.
Over the years, MCCU has grown into a strong and trusted financial institution serving thousands of members across Dominica, with a particularly strong presence in the North-East through branches in Wesley, Woodfordhill, and Calibishie. Guided by our tagline, “A Beacon of Hope Serving the North-East,” MCCU remains committed to empowering communities and improving lives wherever our members reside
